A
different kind of Pilgrim heads west....
Suddenly downsized out of the corporate telecom industry, Sue
Kenney became a pilgrim when she walked 780 kms across the north
of Spain on a medieval pilgrimage route called the Camino de
Santiago de Compostela. She went alone in the winter and wrote
a book about her story.
Sue will be speaking at the Banff Centre on August 23rd to a
group of 300 members of Advocis, for the association of financial
and insurance planners. Sue will share the incredible stories
of her experiences as she braves the unknown. Her talk is titled
The Leadership Journey, and is based on the premise of an open
philosophy of a principled leadership style based on pilgrim
virtues such as compassion, honesty, gratitude, truth, purpose
and love. This approach is supported by the teachings of great
leaders like Robin Sharma, Lance Sectarian, Steven Covey, and
now Sue Kenney. Some of the clients she has addressed are TD
Canada Trust, Manulife Financial, City of Hamilton, CAFE, Calgary
Chamber of Commerce, Fern Resort, Pickering College, Bahama's
International School among others.
Author of Sue Kenney's My Camino, a world class master's rower
and producer of a storytelling CD called Stone by Stone, Sue
gracefully integrates the lessons of the Camino with her business
and athletic expertise, offering a unique perspective to a more
simple approach to a balanced life. Sue has been a guest appearing
on CBC Wildrose Forum, Breakfast Television Toronto and Halifax,
Good Morning Canada, CTV, The New VR, Rogers Daytime, CBC Radio
in Victoria and Vancouver, the Calgary Herald, the Toronto Star
and much more.
